Show CEILING grid, contours and "grab" ceiling in floorplan?

Hi, 

I will try again with the hope that REVIT have made som progress with there ceiling objects over the last years.

When i deliever floorplans to developers I need to show the sound insulated ceiling on floorplans. This is very easaly done in ArchiCAD but in revit I still havent found a smart way.  Im NOT interesed to do any workaround... linework, detail lines, reflected ceiling plans, change underlay orientation or any other not so smart REVIT solution i know about. 

Maybe I should use anopther family component to make/draw my ceiling plates or am I missig something. It would be great to if someone know a solution to this?

I'm unclear what you are looking for.  Can you post some screenshots or something?

I simply want the ceiling to be visible in plan as overhead lines. And I wish for a way to edit the ceiling from floorplan view with one mouseclick or a keyboard command.

I don't know what I'm supposed to take-away from that screenshot, Nor do I understand what ArchiCAD does that Revit can't.  So, I'm still wondering what you are after exactly.

@VicBerg there are two ways to do this in Revit. The first would be set an underlay of the ceiling in the plan view. Then use the linework tool to click every line to be the desired line style,  then turn off the underlay. This works well but is very time consuming.
The other is to set up a RCP where you only see the ceilings, in this view set the ceilings to be dashed and 100% transparent. Place the plan view on the sheet, then place the RCP on the sheet, in that order if the RCP is placed first it will cover the plan.

So you don't think that "better solution" could be found by modeling the ceiling elements you want to show in Floor Plan as Beams and using that Invisible Model Line Trick described in the link I posted above?

Model whatever you want to see above the cut plane as Generic Models families.  They will show in your floor plans using <Above> line style.

I manige to do a generic model family which automaticly shows an above line as a countour line in plan view and that is great. The next challenge would be to automaticly generate a pattern of 600mm x 600mm squares that adapt to the surface size of the ceiling. Do you think this is possible? So far I have maneged to add a parater that controls the nr of an arrays, but only for one line of a specific length and only in one direction.

Why don't you paint the surface with a material with 600mm x 600mm surface pattern?

I will try this, but will it show the ceiling panels in plan view as overhead lines?

So far i havent find a way to show material patterns of an object above the cut plane.

Here is an example: a generic model with a material placed @ 7'-0" AFF (1' thick so top is 8'-0" as the spot elevation shows).
