Shift Key Ortho Not Working

Hello,

I am using Parallels Desktop 18 with Windows 11 on Mac OS X Ventura 13.2 (Revit 2023)

I can't seem to get my ortho lines to draw straight or vertical while holding the shift key. If I press and hold down shift and then hit the tab button it works, but on my PC at the office holding shift alone works just fine. I don't think it's they keyboard because I tried one wired, and my current wireless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you turn SNAP ON (SO) then Revit always suggests vertical and horizontal guides when you draw so that using SHIFT key is not really necessary.

I was able to match your settings shown above, but the problem still persists. What I'm trying to achieve is towards the bottom of your screen shot "Force Horizontal and Vertical" by holding shift. I see the dotted lines at 0 and 90 degrees, but if I hold shift those should be the only direction I can draw in.

It could be a Parallels compatibility issues.

I understood what you said and wanted, and I offered you the sentiment that missing SHIFT force ortho function isn't really a big deal if when you already have the vertical/horizontal guides.

You're probably right on it being a Parallels issue. I just became custom to holding down the shift key, not the end of the world.

Thanks for your help.
