Hello! I am trying to make a room tag that shows a textbox with "ACC" or "COMM" (for "mobility accessible", or "communication accessible" rooms respectively).
I have all the back-end work set up (visibility formulas for these text boxes in the room tag family), but I want to make this information smart, instead of just an instance yes/no on the room tag itself. I would like this data to live with the room so it can be schedulable or used elsewhere.
Ideally, I want rooms in my model to have a pair of YES/NO project parameters for "Mobility Accessible" and "Communication Accessible". If checked, I would like the room tag to respond accordingly, with a text box displaying above the room name (or being hidden if neither of the YES/NO are checked on the room itself).
I have made two YES/NO shared parameters for these, and loaded the shared parameter file into both the project file and the room tag family. I have parameters in the room tag family set up to show/hide the respective text boxes according to the shared parameter; and I have added both of these shared parameters as yes/no instances to "Rooms" in my project.
If I select a room, I see and can toggle these two instance parameters. In my room tag family, I can do the same to these instance parameters. But they are not working together, and the room tag does update (or even show the option to toggle these instance parameters).
What is the missing link between project parameters and room tag instance parameters, if this connection is able to be made? I am fairly (very) new to shared parameters!
For example, if I selected a room;
This is what the room properties show (highlighted shared parameters which are toggleable). Note that the room tag does not change or update with these two shared parameters);
Here is the room tag family, highlighting the same shared parameters. The visibility formulas below show one (or none) of three text boxes in the room tag family itself.
Thank you in advance!
