Revit selection methods

I have a task to show only walls in 3d view highlighted by some selection method probably, along with my complete model and its other elements,
but without using select instance tool and vv or vg filters, neither from design option view.
also, I want to know about the different section method that we can use.

Is selecting the elements in a schedule and then switch to 3D view allowed??

Why the restriction for viewfilters and/or vv anyway??

what do you mean by "show only walls along with my complete model and its other elements"?  That doesn't make sense.
