Hey Everyone,
Having some issues regarding a door tag that is not able to read the value of a shared parameter that is being applied to doors in a linked model. The shared parameter has been added to both models as an instance property, applied to all the same categories and assigned to the same group of parameters. As an experiment I created a test tag that I then applied in the linked model to verify that it was indeed working properly. As soon as I bring the tag into the host model, the tag breaks and is no longer able to read the value of the parameter in the linked door. Below you'll see two images of the same tag that is *supposed* to be pulling the same information. Any ideas would be helpful!

I'm a little confused. Are you trying to add a Shared Parameter to a Linked Element or extract the value of a Shared Parameter -- sharing the same GUID as another Shared Parameter in the host?
....Shared Parameters aren't identified by there name. They are identified by their GUID. In other words, two Shared Parameters can have identical names and be unrelated.
Yup - trying to extract the value of the shared parameter in a linked model that shares the same GUID as the shared parameter in the host model. I'm trying to think of why there would be a conflict, but can't think of one especially because any relationship requires the same GUID.
(edit)
The reason the shared parameter exists in both models is because I want the tag to be able to pull values from multiple categories that exist across both the linked model and host model and avoid needing to create an additional shared parameter that should theoretically should be able to be handled by one. Do you think that because it exists in both models, it is causing a conflict?
Sorry, but it sounds like you are trying to write a Shared Parameter to a Linked in element via the host. That's not what you are trying to do; right?
You need to add the same shared parameter to the door family and door tag, enter the value for each door in the link project, then you can tag it in the host project.
Yeah that’s what I’m doing, but for some reason the value isn’t being passed to the tag...it’s super frustrating because you both have right idea...it’s just functioning super abnormally. Thanks for the help and I’ll let you know if I make progress!

Run a door schedule that includes linked elements. Betcha the schedule's list of available parameters has 2 parameters with exactly the same name. I'll accept any bet amount you want to wager.
Tempting, but I think I'll pass ;). This is what I was thinking, but wasn't sure where the duplication was occurring. Thanks!
