SHADOWS PROBLEM

I am working on a site plan of a house with trees in reasonably close proximity to the house.  The problem i am having is that the trees cast shadows deep within the flor of the house.  As you can see on the attached image this is not realistic. How can we avoid the leaves of the trees casting shadows within the house?LEAVES SHADE.jpg

you can either:

  1. change the Sun settings, or
  2. change tree type so as in Floor Plan to use a 2d symbol lines drawing ( usualy this is the way tree Families are represnted...

Thanks very much for the help. We really wanted to avoid using the 2D tress for a couple of reasons. having the 3D tress is great because they are there when we flip to elevations, or 3D. We also like the shadows pattern the 3D tress create when in plan view. So as such we really did not want to use the 2D tress. As such can you think of a way not to have the shadows of those tress in the middle of the house.3D.jpg3D.jpg

Don't show them in your floor plans?

Now sure why you want them to be visible in a floor plan. You will see them in a site plan, no real need for them in a floor plan view.

turn them off inside your visibility/graphics override or hide them in view.

Make 2 separate plan views: one with trees, one without.  Place the tree plan on a sheet, then place the floor plan on a sheet.  When they align, the floor plan will overlap the tree plan, and the shadows will be hidden.  You may have to play with the crop region a little to get it to work.

Also, you may want to set up a view template that controls the sun orientation, etc., otherwise you shadows won't look right.
