Tread Number Annotation Tools 2015 R2 Update 6

The tread annotation tool has stopped working in 2015 R2 with update 6. I have 2014 as a reference. Before you started the tool and in plan you could select the reference line of the stair. In 2015 -- nothing highlights in plan/section/elevation/sketch mode.

Before i start uninstalling and reinstalling has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks!!

Update - A Computer with Update release 4 (No 5 or 6) still has that functionality. Does anyone with UR5 and R2 have an issue with it?

Thanks!

I am able to use the Tread Number tool in Revit 2015 R2 UR6, but only on Stair by Component stairs, not Stair by Sketch stairs.  I have the same limitation in Revit 2014 UR3.

Well, that doesn't help since most stairs are by component.

Final Update -

Issue resolved - It appears to be a project template specific issue. Transfering standards from an OOTB template project got everything up and running again!

Thanks!

@David_W_Koch You can only number stairs created withthe "By Component" tool. Some goes for adding a Stair Path.

If you want to create a sketch-based staircase. Use "CreateSketch" within the "By Component" tool.

See this link >> RevitCat: Stair Sketch Tool

I'm having the same issue as well. Do you know which category you ticked in the "Transfer Project Standards" to get it to work? Or did you just select everything. Did you use overwrite or new only? Thanks.

I guess "Annotation Family Label Types".

Tried "Annotation Family Label Types", didn't work.

Actually annotating the treads in section in the model file works fine, but when I try to annotate the same treads in the master file (model is linked into a master Revit file for sheets and annotation only) it only works in plan, not in section. It only shows the dotted pitch line (see attachment).

Any ideas?

Thanks.
