Shadows Not cast from imported family in Perspective View

I have created a new family.

A sun shading device.

The horizontal fins were created as a separate family and inserted into the sun shading device.

Both were created as "specialty equipment"

I was using the sun study features to design and create the effects that I needed.

Everything was working great until I went to print the entire drawing set and I noticed that the horizontal fins were not casting a shadow in the perspective on the drawing cover sheet, while the vertical steel supports were casting shadows. Something must be different for the fins.

I cannot figure out why the fins cast the shadows as expected in the plan, elevation and sections views, but NOT in the Perspective view.

They appear transparent in the perspective view but render as solid. I have tried making them in various materials with no effect.

Help please.
