Why are the revision "Date" and "Description" parameters NOT available in the Browser Organization Grouping and Sorting?
They are never there. They are supplemental information from Current Revision so there is no reason to be.
Yes, there are reasons for them to be there.
When the numbering of the issuances is by Sheet, that only parameter available ("Current Revision", which is actually the "Numbering" parameter) varies even if the issuance is the same, which means, it's useless to organize the browser of sheets by current issuance.
Therefore, we need the other parameters to also be available, either the description or the date (the other parameters might be less useful).
So, I guess this thread is actually a feature request:
Considering the browser sorting groups sheets with this value in common what would your browser look like if you could sort by one of the other revision parameters and how would that be a help to the team since the only people that see it are Revit users?

Are you aware that you can add Project Parameters to sort/group by?

Hi Steve,
we normally manage the sheet index for all disciplines.
Even if some subs do not use Revit, we are the ones authoring the indexes and printing the G sheets containing them. We create placeholders for all disciplines sheets, so that we can do the indexes.
Using the issue/revision parameters gives me the closest thing to a real Sheet Set manager built-in Revit.
When a team member set the issuance for the sheet, of when a cloud is drawn in it, then automatically:
Well, for number 4 we still need to use pyRevit "Create Revised Sheet Set" or use Dynamo scripts to print / export a sheet schedule, but you get the idea.
In order to see some meaningful information in the browser (instead of just 1, 2, 3...), I also have to tweak the numbering of the issue/revision to show the text we need, such as a short description of the set:
The two issues now are:
I hope this makes sense.
Thank you
regards
Gio
Yes, I see what you're getting at. I suggest you create/post your explanation in the Revit Ideas forum so others can chime in and help the team guide which parameters they focus on expanding their reach next.
