Section view detail Line not snapping exactly to intersection

Hello:

When drawing detail lines in a section view the line does not snap properly to the end/intersection of the object (see attached image). In all cases it is drawn slightly upwards (3/32" or so) from the selected end/intersection.  I do get the snap box - but it is located slightly above the object as well.  The object is a generic model.

Any ideas?

Thanks;

Nick

That is pretty much what I am trying to figure out - I have no idea how you did that.  Can you point me in the right direction ?

It is answered in the other topic of yours: create parts from the element and override parts material.

OK - I see it.  Missed the second line.

Thanks for your help on both issues.  You likely saved me a miserable weekend.

Yep; guess I was too sober to understand the nonsensical earlier.  Do now though...if you catch my drift. 😉

BTW: Congrats on your two "nonsensical" Solution Credits.

You might want to copy those two solutions and put them in your books so they stand a chance to be out of the dime-a-dozen bin.

In Inventor when you place a plane through a model you can project graphics where the model cuts the sketch plane. If the model changes, the cut graphics change.  Therefore you can build geometry based on where the section is located.  That is what I was trying to do in Revit,

Thanks again for your help,

Nick

AutoCAD too.  Not Revit.

One workaround is to Export to DWG and Import back into Revit.
