Section through .obj object give wrong view

Revit 2024.2

Imported an .obj of a Matterport Scan.  In 3D and plan it looks great, no errors, including view range, etc.  However when I cut sections through the model, the .obj looks the same (and wrong) in every view.  You can see in the screen shot that the car is visible in every section, however none of the sections are cut where you would see the car, and one of them (Exterior Stair) doesn't even go through the building at all.  It's as though the .obj is showing as an elevation (from the extreme, page down edge in the plan view) regardless of the position of the section cuts.  Is there some magic to this or can you just not cut accurate sections through an .obj?

Try inserting it into a cuttable Family Template, and then load that family into Project and see if that makes a difference.

In order not to have the whole import process again, I suggest you make copies of 3d views, adjust the copies to the sections you need, lock them and use them as a backdrop for you annotated sections with the OBJ hidden.
