Hi
this is not the first time this has happened, I have section 2 and it works in every way a section should including showing as section 2 in my sheet and the callout on it is also section 2, however in the floor plan it shows as section 1 but references the sheet for section 2. on the floor plan I therefore have 2 section 1s but one on sheet 107 and the other on sheet 108 which is obviously section 2.
I know how to change it - simply click on the drop down but when I do that it gives me the error message that it is already in use, I checked there is no hidden section (and if there was it would show section 3 not 2) then I look at the project browser to see if there is some weird extra section 2, but there is not, nore has there been
my only work around is to mark it as section 2- which it then thinks is different and allows it

The section was possibly set to reference a different section. When drawing the section line you have the option shown below.
The detail number is not the same as the section name. The detail number refers to the views on a sheet. It includes, plans, elevations, sections, details, legends, schedules, etc...
Have a look on sheet A108, select each element on your sheet and check it's detail number. One of them will have the detail number '2' that you want to give to your section.
okay so the callout detail had the 'detail 2' and was therefore holding the ACE, I changed the callout to detail 2. (with a dot) and then could change the section number - I assume now if I redid the call out it would make it seamless??
thanks heaps
hi tim
this is currently greyed out and I can't select it
where do I need to be do you think?
thanks Darren
It seems that you have the solution, but I was suggesting that perhaps it had been drawn to reference another view. This option is available when creating the section. After the section exists, the option is greyed out.
