Hi, I'm wondering if you can advise on a question that has been posed to me by another member of my team.
In short, we have a simple Yes/No "To Be Issued" parameter within our sheets to help us keep on top of packages, but we are having issues with Work In Progress sections/callouts being visible across multiple drawings.
For example, if I was working up an area, I may create sections and put them on sheets to take to a meeting, but I don't want them showing up on other drawings.
I understand that these views can be filtered out easily enough, however I was wondering if the visibility of these views could be controlled by the state of the "To Be Issued" parameter.
i.e. sections on sheet 002 would not show up on views on sheet 001 unless the "to be issued" parameter had been checked on sheet 002.
Apologies for a muddled explanation, I do hope you can decipher what I'm after, and can offer suggestions as to where to add parameters.
Thanks in advanced.
Interesting question. Well, you can easily turn off all the Model and Annotation Categories via Visibility/Graphics Overrides for the View, so I suppose you could do that through a View Filter. That would turn them them off on the Sheet as well. Maybe a Dynamo routine can do this globally?
Quite possibly, as I'm sure this information is available within the software, but alas I am not well versed in Dynamo.
In essence, I'm looking for a way for a yes/no sheet parameter to control the view templates, or something similar.
Yeah; I get what you are trying to doing. Since it can be done "manually", as I pointed out, I'm betting someone has already written a Dynamo Routine to do this. I use a lot of Dynamo routines I find on line -- more than I build myself. Try Googling it.
The only sheet's parameters can be added to a Filter for control visibility of callouts/sections/elevations are Sheet Number and Sheet Name. You would have to add the "To be Issued" parameter to the Views category and use it to create the filter instead..
