That happens when you try to open more than one session of Revit (same version) example:
- You select revit desktop icon and hit enter to open...Revit took some time and didn't open right away so you tried to open it again and again...
- You double clicked several times to open Revit...
Multiple Revit EXE processes envoked simultaniously can cause that error...you need to be patient if it lags it means your computer is slow; your temp folder is full; windows is still starting up or still running startup apps and software...etc
