Curtain Walls are scheduled as Walls. Use a Filter in order to appear only Curtain Walls and not the other walls

I've attached a screencast that shows the steps in making a Curtain Wall schedule:

I can say how I am doing to show the image of the curtain wall so to insert it into a sheet both with the Curtain Wall Schedule:

  • I make local  sections facing the Curtain Walls ( can be existing sections or sections made especialy for this) I use , then to make Callouts limitited to the borders of the selected Curtain Wall. Can be just sections, but I prefer to make Callouts in order to gather all in the same View place....
  • In this Callouts , i isolate the Curtain Wall, Doors inserted, Grids and I add annotations as Dimensions and Tags
  • for a better presentation I make also Callouts for Plan Views , in the same way
  • Finally I insert all these callouts and Curtain Wall Schedule in one ore several sheets....

the Callout:

and gathered on a sheet:

This is very similar to our approach - the only main difference being that we use dependant views and worksets to isolate the curtain walling elements.

We also ensure that there is at least 1 curtain wall window family assigned per assembly as this allows us to schedule the curtain walling using a window schedule as well giving us access to room data etc for ventilation requirements.

It's something that we are still devleoping the main stumbling block at the moment is when we get into Curtain Wall Types and trying to control that using Groups which is giving us some headaches in terms of organisation but nothing insurmountable.

I'll try and post a screencast in the next few days of the way we're working - it would be good to get some feedback / ideas for improvement.
