Scale problems in Revit - uninstall doesn't solve the problem

Hello,

I don't know if this is the right place to post problems with Revit but I give it a try. I have a weird problem that I haven't managed to find a solution for on google. My Revit issue seems to have some sort of scaling issue (see attached images):

1. I open a blank new file and try to draw a wall. The cursor want to immediately snap to the one of the elevation markers, even if the cursor is far away.

2. I draw the wall and it want to snap only to even 45 degrees angles. Also the dimensions help lines are COMPLETELY out of scale - bold lines with the dimensions extending kilometers away from the object I draw.

3. When the walls are drawn the nearest is highlighted even if the cursor is far away.

4. Move the cursor slightly to the right and it instead snaps to the elevation marker.

When working in another file that is not new and more complex I can hardly select anything else than groups or 2D lines - not objects or families. When I move my cursor over the project it highlights a group far away from the cursor and ignores any objects it actually touches.

If I draw a wall in a reasonable scale (like 5 meters long) I sometimes get the error message that the object is too small.

It somehow seems like the project is 10000 times smaller than it actually is, especially since the help dimension lines seems set for a totally different scale (although the objects I draw are in a reasonable scale). Like Revit is reading it totally wrong.

Troubleshooting and additional information:

* This is a problem that is regardless of file. It appeared suddenly when working wiht a file that worked fine to begin with. A new file or any other renders the same problem.

* It is only connected to my user. Others on other machines have no problems with the same files. Other users who log in to my machine does not experience the same problem.

* I have deleted all Autodesk applications, my temp-files (%tmp% in the run-command) removed the Autodesk folder for my user and local machine in the reg-edit, moved anything I can find in the reg-edit related to Autodesk, reinstalled Revit, installed the updates and hotfixes listed on the Autodesk website.

Still the same problem. Does anyone have any idea of what this can be?

Hi,

Are you working from a Remote session, and/or High DPI setting, resolution of screen(s) ....

Yes I am, but people at the office have tried with my user, and it seems to be the same problem even working directly on the machine. Also, it worked fine with remote to begin with.

Is it just happening in this one file? Post the file. Let see if we can replicate.

We made another try with changing from a remote session to work locally on the machine. This time with a proper logoff and restart before login locally. And then it works. I tried immediately to go back to a remote session and the problem came back. So it looks like it's the remote solution that is causing this problem.

After working the whole afternoon directly on the computer, even the remote works again for some reason, when coming back after the weekend. I'll see for how long it works.

And to the other question posted here: this problem was regardless of what file I used. The current file, another file, a blank new file - all rendered the same problem. Others did not have the same problem with the same file.

Hi,

In the properties of the shortcut for Revit see if changing any of the DPI settings helps, see below.
