RVT 2020 to 2021 - Materials

Hei

So I recently upgraded from 2020 to 2021.

But a strange thing has happened to my downloaded materials that used to work just fine in RVT 2020.

Everything looks right in the material browser, and all file locations has been checked:

But when I open a Realistic view of the walls, the materiell isnt visible?

Again same materiell in RVT2020 worked just fine.

If I use the same view, but set it to consistent colours the materiell is shown:

If I use the standard materiells we got from our autodesk supplier, they work fine.

So its just my downloaded materiels, that wont show like they did before?

Hopefully some Revit Wizard got the solution, google searh wasnt helpfull...

And im desperate for better materiels 😉

I need your Material's "kebony scots pine diff weathered.jpg" image to be able to test.

BTW, Revit has a ton of Assets OOTB that you can use as well.  Have you looked through them?  Betcha there one that comes very close - if not spot on - to what you are after.

Sry for the late reply, holidays, and all

Yeah, I have gone through most of them, unfortunately for Scandinavians the OOTB stuff is very poor, to say at best.

I have downloaded most stuff from the UK/US versions, however I do not find cladding types that are same as to Scandinavians use. The profile of the cladding is important to look of the house 😉

Ive attached the JPG picture of the cladding.

Hmm, that is so odd, it atleast looks closer to what I was looking for...

Guess I have to try and reinstall Revit or something.

I did a clean install with RVT 2021, so its weird looks like that for me.

Well either way, Thank you so much for your time Barthbradley.

Ill keep you postet on how the fresh installation works out.

So, I got a new status update on this one if anyone else is interested in why this happened.

I contacted our Autodesk supplier (Focus Norway), and they looked into the problem, what they discovered is that it is the “Reflectivity” image that Revit 2021 reads differently than any other Revit Version, must likely because the update to the Rendering software in RVT 2021.

So, if I turn off Reflectivity, and just use some standards settings it works. Obviously, you will not get the same reflective style that is supposed to be for the material, but at least its visible 😉

This is also the case for all they other materials ive download this far, that worked in RVT 2020 and not in RVT 2021.

The Autodesk supplier will look into this further, since they found it strange and assumed that this be a ongoing problem for Revit users.
