I have a structure model which is 200 m long and i need to show a longitudinal section without compromising the scale. how can i break the section (without duplicating it) to several parts and put it to a sheet or several sheet.
because when i tried to put into the sheets by duplicate the section & crop the region as per my requirement, in the plan all the tags are showing. how can i achieve this in easier manner.

Without duplicating the view??? You can't. You need to duplicate dependent views and create match lines, and perhaps, key it to a small-scale view of the entire building delineating the extents of each and all those views.
...either that, or use larger sheets, if you don't want to reduce the scale.
Any technical drawing needs to fix few things in order.
First is the Sheet size.. and then comes the scale of the drawings.
If you are not permitted to use larger Paper size, then stick to one paper size
( Ex A1 ) ,
later use Dependent view and split the drawings as per required...
use match line, tag match line ( this will give references , just like elevation or section tag showing view number
and sheet number )
Thank for the reply..!
But if I duplicate as dependent the plan view showing 3 tags for section..! how can i eliminate that...!

Can you elaborate exactly how you are proposing to hide the section tags using filters..!
Revit adds the default suffix "Dependent" to a dependent view name. If it's not against your rules then create a simple filter for sections with the rule: View Name contains "Dependent".

I'm confused. Are you familiar with making Dependent Views and Cropping? Are you familiar with Match Line and View Reference (View Tab=>Sheet Composition Ribbon) Those are all you need. If you have other annotations in the views you don't want displayed on the sheet, then turn them off in the view -- don't eliminate them. But you have to show the View Reference and Match Line information on the sheets.
...drill up from this link. Betcha you have an "ah-ha" moment. ![]()
showing the dimension as well as breaking the section to fit in the sheet
Can anyone please help me how to fit the long section in the sheet without compromising the scale and dimension as shown in the above sketched diagram. Note- the section should be one single diagram with the break line(not breaking it in to two parts )
Thank you in advance.
Select your view window in the section you want to break. 2 "zig-zag" break symbols appear on each line (pictured). Click on one of these to create either a horizontal or vertical break as required. Drag the extents to create the break you want. Use a detail item to place a break line symbol with a masking region to neaten up either side of the break.
Thank you for the solution.
The first part worked but I am getting problem in creating break lines. Is it applied after the section is cropped vertically?
Can you please provide me the steps for "Use a detail item to place a break line symbol with a masking region to neaten up either side of the break."
Thank you
This link has video instructions for adding a break line to your project.

Duplicate the view as a dependent, then select the duplicated view and convert it to independent view... (assuming that it is ready to break the dependency...)

Not sure, if nothing of the above perhaps this is what you're after... display crop region and break/move its parts together to fit the sheet, to place on multiple sheets you will need to duplicate the view.
multiple break and move crop region
