Rotating Views on sheets Revit 2026

Has anyone tried to rotate a view in Revit 2026 when placing on a sheet? The previous versions had a dropdown to select clockwise or counter clockwise. With the newest version it has a search bar to find positions with no help after that. There are only three positions that should be used. The default, 90 degrees clockwise, and 90 degrees counter clockwise. Can anyone help on this?

I recommend against using this method. Use Scope Boxes instead.

The drop down menus in 2026 are meant to help you align the placement of the views accross multiple sheets...If you mouse over any of them and wait for the Tip popup to appear then press F1 it will redirect you to the following help section

Help | View to Sheet Positioning & Automated Placement | Autodesk

The option to rotate the view port itself is no longer available I believe on the Contextual Bar...However, it is accessible still on the Properties panel when the view port is selected.

To Rotate Elevations and Section Views on sheet

  1. Only one method for this,
    • Select the viewport
    • On the properties panel use the rotation on sheet parameter
    • Select the 90 degrees Clockwise/ 90 degrees Counterclockwise rotation

To Rotate Plan Views on sheet use either of the following:

  1. Rotate the Crop Region of the view a helpful video can be found on this link Help | Video: Rotate Views on a Sheet | Autodesk 3 methods shown in the video,
    • First method is the legacy Contectual bar drop down menu which is now relocated to the properties panel
    • Second method is rotating the project north method. This will affect all the view which might not be recommended on all projects
    • Third method is rotating Crop Region of the view which is the most practical (as long as you note the rotation angle used in case you wish to reset it)
  2. Use a Scope Box and rotate that. Can get crumbersome when you have a large scale project with countless views to be rotated => you end up with 10s of scope boxes to manage just for the sake of view layouts on sheets
