Roomnames

I am currently working on a house renovation, the client wants to add an addition off the back of their house.  in some areas the existing house will grow into the new addition space, i.e. kitchen, dining, bathroom.  I am working in phases and I am trying to get the room names to tag the spaces that got bigger, i.e. kitchen, dining, bathroom but they will only tag either the new portion or the existing, not combine the spaces that got bigger into one area.  not sure if this makes sense. please help

So you have a room in Existing Phase and a room in New Construction Phase?

In essence. I have for instance a kitchen addition. I am adding 10’ to an existing kitchen. If I try to make a room it will either make the room in the new space or the existing space and not combine the two spaces into one room.

What is the separation between the existing and tge addition?

Make the existing wall between the existing and new not room bounding, draw a room separation line there in the existing phase, demolish it in new phase.

Hard to tell from this screenshot. Do you have a bulkhead/soffit above the Cut Plane?

...what's your computational height set to for the level. Should be 0'-0".
