Room seperation and overlaps

Hi,

I have some issues with seperating of my Office Building Rooms.

1. When I'm in the Wireframe visual Stying ( that's the only style where I can see solid lines for my room seperations because the other styles are showing me hidden lines??? ) If I click to seperating room with a rectangle, as you can see in the below printscreen ( room seperation north of the stairs ), revit gives me a notification that there are some lines that overlaps and that I need to delete some lines to move forward with this element.

Rectangle seperation boundry.Rectangle seperation boundry.

But only if I draw the rectangle I am able to tag the room. (see below )

Rectangle room seperation tag.Rectangle room seperation tag.

Because when I'm deleting the lines as it instruct me to do, I'm not able to tag the room any more. The program does not understand the room seperation in this case.

Line Room Seperation_issue no room tag abilityLine Room Seperation_issue no room tag ability

Addtionally when I'm in the hidden line visiual style I can see the drawing room seperation lines as green hidden lines withing the building area. But when I draw the room seperation outside of the building they seen as solid black lines as it should look like normally.

Line DifferenciesLine DifferenciesLine differencies_no room tagsLine differencies_no room tags

I would be very please, if you guys can help me with this issue, cause I have a lot of trouble to seperate and tag the middle space of my building project. I don't know why but I've tried to play also with the visibilty setting to show the lines of the room seperation correctly but it doesn't help. I was not able to add my rooms on the project.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Kindest Regards, Seda

Are the surrounding walls "Room Bounding"?  Check their properties.

Hi Bradley, thank you for your interest to helping me, but could you please explain a little bit more. Where and how can I find room bounding and where to find it exactly? Best Regards, Seda

Select a wall and look at it's properties.  One of them is for 'Room Bounding'.  The box should be checked if you want the wall to define a room boundary.

From your setting and the hidden Room Separator Line, I guess your floor is higher than your floor level. which probably means the stairs well wall is also higher than the floor level.

To fix your problem, either lower the wall to touch the floor level or raise the Computation Height of the level.
