Room Area Computation Issue

Is this still an issue with Revit's Room & Area? The Room Area Computation is set at wall finish but the plan show core of the wall........

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Mine works in 2019 also.  However, I note that you're in an area plan - are you referring to rooms or areas?  The room area computation refers to rooms.

Sorry. Yes I wanted the total area including wall finishes

We always draw area boundaries manually.  We can then control where we want the boundaries to be.

If you use pick walls when draw the area separation lines:

- Gross Area plans draw them on the outside of the exterior walls, and on center of the interior walls.

- Rentable Area plans draw them on the inside of the exterior walls, and on center of the interior walls.

If you want to draw to the finish of the interior walls then you need too sketch the lines, not pick the walls.

Why not using Rooms or Spaces?

Ok Thank. I got it to work. One final question when I was creating area, I checked "move with nearby elements". Does this mean if the wall is modify or move, the blue line moved with it therefore changing the area calculation.

No - not automatically.  But you can align and lock the boundary lines to walls, and then they will move if the wall moves.
