Roof Visibility

Hello Revit Community.

I have a question about roof visibility:

I have set up an overall roof plan using Revit 2016, and all looks good, except for the fact that the roof line and the tops of the exterior walls are all defaulting to halftone. It would be preferable to have these lines read as dark. I have tried changing the view range, depth clipping, underlay, visibility graphics, etc. Nothing will change those lines from halftone. Help!

Did you check the Phasing?

Just checked the graphics for phasing and the only thing that should be half toned is existing construction, which there isn't any of in this model. All elements drawn are in the new construction phase and the phase filter is set to show that.

1. Make sure the View's cut plane is above the roof and the View is a Floor Plan, not a Ceiling Plan.

2. Make sure View's Display Model = Normal, not Halftone (but that would affect everything, not just Roofs and Exterior Walls)

Went through and checked those things. Cut plane is above the roof, tried messing with the bottom and view depth to bring it above the roof and then way below, but all it ended up grabbing was section heads from lower in the model and did nothing to change the halftone.

Have you tried simply changing the VG settings for Lines > <beyond> ?

Have you checked there is not element override?

V/G overrides?

What is the View's Discipline?

I did mess around with all of those properties. The first thing I did was try to do a visibility graphics override for just one of the selected elements, through the V/G menu and then through right clicking to do override graphics in view, and the halftone would not change. Other than that, there were no existing overrides causing it to not change.

The discipline is architectural.

If you duplicate the View, does the new View have the same problem?

Duplicated the view, took off the V/G template, STILL halftone.

Here is what it ended up being. The silhouette was set to <Beyond> in the the graphic display options, so for the heck of it I set it to our 01 line style, and BAM, halftone gone. Thank you so much for all of your help!

Are you sure its a halftone? have you checked its line setting at VG, Material & Object Styles?

I checked all of that. I ended up solving it though. It was through the Graphic Display Options. For some reason having the Silhouettes set to <Beyond> made it halftone, so for the heck of it I changed it to our 01 line style and it finally got rid of the halftone.
