Roof Opening cut breaking main roof join

Hello.

I'm working in Revit Light 2023. In an earlier version of the model I created a roof opening cut in a 45 degree pitched roof above a window opening to create a wrap around window effect. (Image 1). This was in a roof that joined the main roof of the house, similarly at 45 degree pitch.

Then the client made some changes, so I re-saved the model and deleted the roof element of the window. Now I have to re-instate the roof cut window (wrapping around from the window below) and it is not working. Every time I try to out in a roof opening (in any location) it breaks the join with the main roof. And I don't know why.

I've checked with the original model and all the details (as far as I can see) are the same.  It is exactly the same roof in both instances. I've tried copying the original roof into this version of the model on the chance there was a glitch... but I'm unable to join that to the main roof.

If you have any ideas why this isn't working that would be much appreciated.

(Note this follows on from my earlier corner window forum post)

For reference I've now solved this.

I realised that a first floor level ceiling was included in the later model which seems to have 'upset' the joining of the rooves (with or without the roof opening cut). Presumably this is because of the junction between the ceiling and the roof. As such, deleting the ceiling has meant I can create the window opening and retain the roof junctions.
