Roof keep being conneced to wall.

Hi.

On one end of my house, the roof end stays at the same place (Wall end) no matter how far i draw the footprint.

How to I solve this?

Not sure if I understand tbh, perhaps try disconnecting and reconnecting the wall to the roof...

I dont want to disconnect the wall, because it will delete alot. But no matter how big offset i make with the footprint, the roof stops at the wall end, but as you can see on picture 3, the gutter and fascia do offset.

I don't understand the problem and those pictures don't help. Post the file. I'll figure it out.

When you draw roof outline, I recommend to set OFFSET first and then draw your roof outline.

If you have existing roof and want to maintain dimension or wall attachment, then you must check off COPY. This will help maintain previous setup without have to redo everything.

is this maybe about you used Pick Walls instead of Pick Lines when sketching the Roof Boundary so now when you edit the Roof Sketch and extend one side of the Roof, Revit treats this extension as an overhang?  If so, instead of dragging the original sketch line, delete it and create a new one.

I have made alot of houses in Revit, never seen this before. I never pick lines or walls.

If you look at pic 2, you can see where I have set my roof footprint, and on pic 3, you can see my gutter and fascia staying where i put my footprint. But If you look at the tiles, they stopped, at the end off the wall. No matter how far away i put the footprint, the tiles/roof stop at the wall

Do you have any vertical cut opening cutting the roof?

Cool.  I've never seen such a thing happen.  I can't even venture a guess as to why it's happening.  Love to examine the RVT.

I found the solution.

By an accident, I may have been hitting the join/unjoin roof function, thats why it keept staying at the same place. Dohh 🙂
