Roof family

I would like to create the purlin as a family for a tilted roof for my project.

As the project is building complex, each of them is different in shape/size.

Which means the family better to follow by the footprint of the roof.

Now, I created the face based family for the purlin.

How can I merge this with the roof and fitting the footprint as a new roof family?QQ截图20161020100658.jpgQQ截图20161020100836.jpgQQ截图20161020101054.jpg

Welcome to the forum.

You don't mention if you are using full Revit or Revit LT. If you are using full Revit, then you are doing too much extra work. You can use the Beam System tool, without having to create families and parametric arrays. By the way, there is not any "roof family". There are structural framing families that you can use for this purpose.
