Revit with COBIE Interoperability Toolkit installed for "everyone" has issues.

I Installed the COBIE Interoperability Toolkit to use on a project. During the installation process, it asked if download should apply to "user" or "everyone".  I read that the recommended settings is everyone, so I selected everyone. Now, it appears on other people's computers as well but when I am using the toolkit, other users cannot open the model or use the toolkit.

Is this problem avoidable?

Should I uninstall the toolkit and reinstall to a user?

Will this mean I loose my existing COBIE data?

Your COBie data is stored in the Revit model, so removing the COBie Extension won't delete it. You simply won't be able to add more data automatically.

I would suggest uninstalling and then manually deleting the program files folder for the COBie Extension. It could be under C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\COBie Extension and/or C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\BIT\<year>\COBie

You would also need to delete the .ADDIN file which might be under C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\<year> or C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\<year> - look for the file named BIT.30.COBieExtension or COBie Extension. This all will depend on what version you are using.

Once the program folders are removed, try reinstalling for "everyone".
