Revit wall finishes not showing in plan view

The wall faces aren't showing in my plan views (with "fine" detail level selected).  I haven't worked with the template I'm using before so I'm not really sure of the methodology of how it was all set up, but I've checked VG under walls and didn't see any overrides.  And when I switch to a separate plan view in the same template, the face material shows up - so it's clearly a setting somewhere in the view itself.  Nothing other than the core shows up (so even on a wall with sheathing, etc, only the core will show).

So is it possible to save the existing view settings of one plan view as a view template that I can apply to the other plan view?  That'd be the quick solution in my mind if it's possible.

Second, what could possibly be causing this?  Obviously knowing would help me in the long run solve similar issues should they ever come up.

I included a screenshot to show a little more of what I'm talking about.  The wall at the top doesn't show face material, but the wall on the left, that I've clicked on, shows the face exists (in the "blued out" selection).

Thanks for your help,

Daniel

Accepted solution

Let's start with creating a new View Template

View>>View Templates>>Create Template From Current View

To go back to the original template - are there any filters? Sometimes filters can go crazy - once some crazy filter took out all the doors in an ongoing project! Try removing them one at a time to see if that makes a difference.

Thank you for the help!

I was able to go through the first solution and it worked.

As for the filters, I recently switch from Revit down to Revit LT, so I'm not sure but I don't see the filters tab on the VG screen.  Is that a "lost" feature with the step down?

Ah ok.  Thanks.  Your first solution worked so I'm able to move forward on my project.  Hopefully the second solution will help others.

Thanks again!

The reason maybe the walls were splitted to parts and view is set to Show Parts only.

I've had a similar problem--The whole wall shows up, but as one material rather than multiple as it should.  I added a metal stud furring layer and gypsum board on one side of a CMU wall, but it shows up in plan as all CMU. Detail Level is set to fine.  There are no filters and no overrides on walls in the View Template.  Although I'm certain the wall has not been separated into parts as I just created it, I tried changing the "parts visibility" setting just in case, and it didn't change the appearance. I've attached the plan view (the wall in question is the one going north-south), and the wall type, which shows the materials correctly in the preview.
