Revit Wall - Different Layer Finishes

Revit Wall - Different Layer Finishes

Looking for some advice - We are currently trying to adapt the wall in our model so the internal block layer finishes at a lower level to the external. We have managed to do it as with the wall profile square, but when editing the profile to match the gradient of the roof it no longer gives us the option of changing the height of the layers individually.

I am not sure if I understood exactly what you are trying to model...but you cannot have access to the unlocked profile of a wall if you edit its profile OR Attach its Top/Bottom.

What you can do is partially cut the wall preserving the layer (which has its profile unlocked) intact ... In the GIFF below I unlocked the profile of the Finish Layer >>> I adjusted its height in the model >> then cut off the remainder to have wall follow roof

Then you do not need to unlock profile...either/or

  1. Attach the Wall to the Roof or edit its profile and sketch its shape ...then use a void to cut the inside layer
  2. Without attaching the wall to roof; use 2 voids ... one to cut inside layer at the Bottom of the beam and another to cut the outside layers at the bottom of the roof

More ways still on how to do this but the above should suffice...the original question was on no access to unlocked layers which I believe has been clarified

If you need help with anything else, please do not hesitate to start a new thread 🙂
