Revit walkthrough images show white border

When exporting an image from a walkthrough there will be a white border exported. Also if I export gigger file lets say 1920x1080 the AVI will not come with the right Index

When I did walkthroughs in Revit I exported the frames as images. Then used software (e.g avidemux) to assembly them in a movie. Before that you could use a batch image editor to crop of the edges of each image

Nowadays I use other software to create movies. Have a look at Enscape (paid) for example. Easy way to create walkthroughs and make movies with much better results.

... also you can take a look at LUMION and LUMENRT

.... those are very good for "walkthrough" pourposes

Thanks for reporting this issue. Can you confirm the version of Revit your are using and if you are on the latest build?

How big is the file size? Do you have linked models in the main model?

Can you also share a screencast? I will reproduce this issue with your exact same steps and file a bug if required.

1, Controlling shadows with Graphic Display Options.

2, Perspective View in Hidden Line style with Shadows.

3, Image exportation settings.

(Find the attachment)

You will see a dialog box that allows you to select the settings of your choosing for exporting. For good quality images to use in presentations, I recommend using the “zoom to” option, which will export your image to the exact dimensions you made the crop region around the view and setting the quality to 150 or 300 DPI. All non-rendered images in this article were exported in this manner.

I am using Revit 2019. This ocurs at any file size. I do not have any linked models.

Hi @jayhar  .

Your answer seems to point at the Export Images dialog. I think the original question is about exporting a Walkthrough Animation as Image-frames as opposed to an AVI-video file.

When you export an Image (still) you may see a thin black border. That's the Crop border. It can be turned off in the view properties.

But when you export an animation there's also wide white border outside the crop area around the film (almost exactly 5% wide) when using any variant of Visual Style controlled by the Graphic Display Options. Only in Raytrace/Rendering does it not appear.

I can set the dimensions of the output or the percentage "zoom". I want the default Crop proportion because otherwise it is impossible to get an exact/even output dimension which doesnt sit well with video compression or publishing.

My workaround is adding 10+% to the output size dimension and cropping the result to my preferred video size (2K or 4K) with a PS macro or in video compositing program.

Also I always render stills and not AVI-directly since the compression options are so limited. 

As far as I can tell there is no solution to getting rid of this wide white border directly in exporting a walkthrough animation.

It should be reported as a bug for fixing as it is completely incomprehensible why it is a border there at all. I haven't looked for a reported bug or suggested fix yet.
