revit vs. BA

Hello,

A lot has been discussed of the capabilities of revit vs. ADT and some about
revit vs. archicad.

However, I am very curious if anyone has a view of revit over bentley
architecture (BA). I have previously worked with revit v.4 and was quite
impressed. Since then, for professional reason, I moved on to work with
microstation.
I have always been supportive of an integrated way of working a building and
Revit at the time appeared (and still does) to be a good way of to achieve
this..

Has anyone had hands-on experience with both packages that could share their
view? A great advantage I see in Revit is how user friendly it is. However,
I always being pointed to the fact that Revit may be too narrow in the way
it defines a building, its modelling and parametrical capabilities.

Any views would be highly appreciatted.

Thank you,

Rui

There's a reseller, named Wes, who posts a lot on AUGI.com. He's a reseller for both products, and is actually pretty down to earth and candid about both. Search over on AUGI about BA and I think you'll find a lot of his posts comparing the two.

I used Microstation for 3 years. Experimented with Triforma briefly. The few people and firms that I knew that used BA have switched to Revit. My personal experience with Bentley is they don't seem to really listen to what architects want...your mileage may vary.

Jeffrey,

Thanks, I'll look at AUGI then.
