Revit Title block exporting to clients

Hi folks,

I am new to Revit and do apologies if my question sounds silly but I have encounter the problem I can't overcome.

Basically I have created our own custom title block with a lot of custom labels which renders the look of our AutoCad title block. I have created a shared parameter file, and the title block is an .rfa file.  So far, so good, no issues here. Loading the title block in the project, then adding all parameters to the project and everything works smooth and fine.

My question is- when I export this title block for use by our clients (which happens quite often)- do they need to repeat the last step at their end? I mean do they need to manually load all the custom block parameters into their project in order to use the title block? Or is there any automated process that when they receive my title block, all they need is to load it to their project and no further operations required?

Really depends what you really want to achieve. I've set up AutoCAD with Revit export. The only thing I need to do in AutoCAD is tie those Revit exported Sheet to Sheetset manager. Let sheetset manager drive the plotting and etransmitting. If they want to go beyond that, I would suggest to xref the Revit export sheet to sheet titleblock that ties to sheetset manager.

Sorry for not being clear enough. It's not really anything to do with the AutoCad, the fact I mentioned it probably has confused everything. As a company we are migrating to Revit from Acad.  In Acad we have developed a family of title blocks which we have been using for years. And with Revit, we would like to do similar-  just produce a title blocks group which is similar to the Acad one as far as possible.  Very often we outsource designing jobs to external companies and provide them with our title blocks to produce drawings for us. In AutoCad all I have to do is to send the title block template, fonts and the plot settings file to the Client. On their side they implement it in their Acad and use the template to produce drawings.

I would like to do the same with Revit- just to sent our template title block to the Client for them to use it.  But it looks like they have to load all title block custom parameters in their project in order to use a template. And this has to be done manually, one by one. Is that so?

Typically with your setup, you may want to use shared parameter. However if you planning to share your titleblock to the client, you want to avoid shared parameter. I would create a generic annotation text family and load that into the titleblock family. Set those generic annotation text family as either type or instance parameter. If you don't understand, just upload the sample of your titleblock.

I've a question about the titleblock. Are those shared parameter needed to create drawing list schedule or they are there just to reference?

I've attached the sample titleblock using generic annotation parameter. When you select the titleblock, you are able to add value to the generic annotation parameter.

As well you can tie the generic annotation parameter to the project global parameter.

So the client side don't need to add in shared parameter value. They can add that into the project and have these generic annotation parameter already added into the titleblock.
