Hi,

By using Revit , you can create a short cut for rotating a model group as you need , but you have after that to specify the "angle of rotation".

The short cut will be for the" Rotation" only .

1- Select the component (Model group for example)

2- Type your short cut (RO for example)

3-Specify your angle of rotation.

(graphically or by writing the angle at the option bar) as the attached JPG`s

Thanks for your answer but this is not what i ment by shortcut, what I am after is a keyboard shortcut.

1 - Select object

2 - Keyboard shortcut exp. ctrl+R = Rotate 90 degrees.

I suggest making the model group a family. Then the spacebar will rotate 90 degrees. No shortcut needed.

Hi, I thought about that but I nee to be able to ad colors-fills to my drawings that also can be changed in an easy way but maybe this is also possible if I make a family.  / Victor

KEYBOARD SHORTCUT brings one to the tool but doesn't access the degree field. One would reasonably expect Revit to be able to fix that so that hitting RR or RO would activate the degree field and NOT having to force user up to mouse into that field. This is one of many instances where too much mouse dragging is going on.

Actually Vectorworks has similar shortcut for rotating on 90 by single command which is quite good.

There is no need to move your cursor to the degree box to type.  Select an element, initiate Rotate command, pick Center of rotation, and type the degree directly.

I encountered a rare problem.

I use a model line to draw a perfect vertical line.

But I can't draw a perfect horizontal line.

It happens to some views of the RVT file, but not all.

I tried to draw a vertical line first, and then rotate the line 90 degrees.

It doesn't work at all.

The Revit level is good, always 90 degrees.

But a model line cannot snap to a horizontal level; why?
