Revit selecting end points

When trying to draw on top of cad drawings. Revit selects endpoint of the lines and not the centre between them to create Walls. I saw a video where a guy drew directly on top of these lines from the centre between them.

This only disables snap, drawing manually on top of cad lines is even more difficult.

Check if you have all the snaps active (Manage > Snaps).

Then in most cases it should work when you start the wall command.

Not sure what Revit considers to show/not show these snapping points (why it sometimes does not work).

Revit 2022 allows you to snap between 2 points.

But if you are tracing DWG, you can keep snapping to endpoints and change the Wall Location line to Exterior Face or Interior Face instead of Wall center, if you see the wall on the wrong side of the line after click the 1st point, simply press Spacebar to flip it before click the next point.  You can also use Pick Likes to draw walls.

I think what you are seeing in that video is a guy tracing a wall using a specific Wall Location Line.  If he was tracing on the outside, as you are, then I suspect his Wall was using Finish Face: Exterior. 

The wall’s Location Line specifies which of its vertical planes is used to position the wall in relation to the tracing path.

...If you are actually tracing an exterior Wall to an interior partition Wall, then trace on the interior side using Finish Face: Interior.

Thanks, it had to do with location line not being set to default.
