Revit Room Tags not showing

For the love of all that is holy... someone help me. I can NOT get Room Tags to show in my model. Things to note:

1. I'm tagging from a linked model. I have opened said linked model and gotten the tags to show up fine there.

2. If I press the Room Tag button, and hover over a room, the tag will float, but as soon as I click, it disappears and gives me the "None of the Created Elements are Visible" pop-up.

3. I have checked that Rooms and Tags are visible in my view.

4. I have gone into the VG for the linked model, and Rooms and Tags are on in there, too.

     a. Checked the workset that the rooms are on, it's open and showing.

5. When I toggle Reveal Hidden Elements, I can see them. They're grey though, so they're NOT hidden.

6. My view is in wireframe, so they're not UNDER anything.

7. Doesn't SEEM to be a phasing issue, as the linked model and the view are set to NEW CONSTRUCTION with SHOW ALL phase filters selected.

I've been googling for HOURS and I've tried everything.

What am I missing?

Check Link Properties for Room Bounding and check Phase Mapping.  In View that you want to Tag Room. Go to VGO for RVT LINKS and set Link to "By Linked View" and choose the View that shows Rooms in the Link Project.

step 1 should be no problem as long as the link is set to room bounding as @barthbradley mentioned.

step 2 tells me the tags are being placed, there just not visible. which leads me to visibility issue in your view....

  • Are you using View Templates?
  • Try making a new view, with no VT applied, and see if you have the same issue.
    • if the tags show in the new view, make a VT from that view (View > View Templates > Make VT from current view) and apply it to the view that isn't working.

Number 5 seems to hint that they're hidden by a view filter. As @hmunsell said above, check your View Template and VG settings.
