I think if you done a survey on Windows / MAC users, and asked if they would change if it became available on the MAC, a lot of people would change their system, not the software.
I know I would.
I only use windows because Revit works with the operating system.
Yes, agreed, I just got a MAC. I have been using PCs since 1988. I would change over to Revit for the MAC in a second.
You can use Frame to stay natively in Mac OSX & run Revit in your browser.
The performance is pretty outstanding.
There's a trial here - http://www.cadonthecloud.com
This statistic us too broad. Autodesk does not sell its products to all computer users.
Perhaps a better measure would be to consider how many people use design software out og the total realm of computer users.
I would guess perhaps about 10%. The other 90% do other things.
Now out of that realm of designers, potential Autodesk clients, how many use a MAC or a PC.
I would say that perhaps 60 tp 70% of designers prefer a MAC.
That is in my view the way to look at this.
Most arch firms in the UK I would argue use Pc's and generally always have done. Those that choose to use Mac's predominantly use Archicad. Back in the day there used to be quite a gulf between PC's and Mac's in terms of design software, less so now, there is very little software wise that isn't available for PC's and very little difference in terms of performance. The main factor comes down to whether you feel Mac OS is a better operating system, personally I don't much mind.
That said if I had the choice and all the software I wanted was available on both platforms I'd probably choose a Mac simply because it's nicer to look at. ;o)
Sorry if this has been posted already, but if you use windows 7 instead of 8 you will have far fewer compatability issues. I run 5 desktops and 3 laptops of varying ages all with zero graphics card problems. Bootcamp windows 7 full driver upload and you should be fine. I've tried upgrading to windows 8 and have encountered the same issues you speak of.

5 years later and work in progress, why should I download windows system on my machintosh just to run revit !

Well, I think you've answered your own question there - to run Revit. You could of course use an alternative like Archicad - it comes highly recommended, of course, it's not Revit but well...

So Lamborghini cars company for how many percent they built the car for ?
Well, Lamborghini owners most likely don't use their Lambo for furniture shopping or for bringing their children to a soccer practice. They most likely have a couple BMW or Benz for such tasks.
Hi @Anonymous Welcome to Autodesk Community!
You can download the student version of Revit and 3ds Max from Education Community. Revit and 3ds Max don't have the Mac version however you can install them on Mac via Boot Camp or Parallels Desktop. See: Mac-compatible software for more information.
