Revit Not Responding After "Choose A File" Pop-Up Window

I am having an issue with Revit 2025 not responding. I am able to open project files perfectly fine and most of the commands and functions within the files itself perform perfectly. However, if I attempt any action that prompts the pop-up window that allows you to choose a file to open or a location to save a file etc. and then either press "Cancel" or "Choose File" the window will close like normal but then the program will cease to respond and I will be forced to close the program.

This has happened when I have tried "Link CAD", "Import CAD", "Load Family", "Save As", and several other commands within Family Files.

I was having the problem with Revit 2024 and am still having the problem after un-installing 2024 and downloading 2025 earlier today (January 15).

I'm running on Windows 10 (version 10.0.19045).

Open to any suggestions, thanks!

Hey!

For the CAD files; there may be very lines in the CAD file which may take some time be imported or linked. You may want to purge the CAD file.

For the Family files; Revit family may contain CAD imported object or have some other families within.

You may want to purge the family file, and also get rid of CAD files related objects.

For the save as; the model may have both CAD files and family files which have issues described above.
