Is there a way to adjust the accuracy of the measure tool in Revit.

For example set it to round to the 1/8th rather than taking it all the way out to the 256th of an inch?

I take lots of measurements on pointclouds and this would make life much easier.

This changes how dimensioning works but does not effect the measure tool.

To change the measure tool, go to Manage > Project Units. Change the accuracy of the Length Format.

That is not working. No matter what I set length rounding to the measure tool is not effected.

I'm curious as why you actually use the measuring tool instead of dimension tool?

Because i am working with pointcloud data. I just need quick measurements from the pointcloud before I build an object. For example taking a quick wall thickness measurement before placing a wall. Or taking endless measurements from an object to build a family. I just need quick measurements not a screen full of dimensions.

Write down a list or a chart for your own translation. For example:

<17 / 256 = round down
17-48 = 1/8
49-80 = 1/4
81-112 = 3/8
113-144 = 1/2
145-176 = 5/8
177-208 = 3/4
209-240 = 7/8
>240 = round up.

After a dozen times your brain may do the math pretty quickly.

Currently there is no way to adjust the units of the measure tool. Please feel free to visit the new Revit Idea Station where users can vote on ideas which may be implemented by development in future versions.

It is now 2023 and this still persists.  After 30 years of working in construction planning, I don't recall ever having to measure something to a 256th accuracy.  1/8th of an inch is generally an accepted tolerance.

I'm also looking for a way to do this.

Looks like Autodesk would address this and somehow give us an option.

It is a little odd to me that this function does not already exist.
