REVIT LT 2020 PROJECT BROWSER IS MISSING

Anonymous
Not applicable

my project browser is missing and I've tried all of these methods... still no visible project browser. I'm NOT using dual screens. PLEASE HELP!!!

Issue: The Project Browser may not be selected for display or may be hidden.

Solution: Try one of the following techniques to display the Project Browser:
  • Click View tab

    Windows panel

    User Interface drop-down

    Project Browser.
  • Open Control Panel

Display, and make sure that the zoom is set to 100%.
  • If you are using dual monitors, the Project Browser may be displaying on the second monitor, but is not visible. Try these steps:
    1. Change the display to use a single monitor.
    2. Drag and dock the Project Browser in the Revit LT window.
    3. Rest the display to use dual monitors, if desired.
  • You can reset the ribbon and other user interface settings by deleting the UIState.dat file.
Note: Deleting this file removes customizations to the ribbon and the Quick Access Toolbar, and restores the default user interface.
    1. Exit Revit LT.
    2. In a Windows browser, navigate to %APPDATA%\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit LT 2020\<language>.
    3. Delete UIState.dat.
    4. Open Revit LT.

If all these methods didn't work so I guess that it's merged with the properties.

check below photos. If that's correct, drag it away then reposition it.

Your link takes me to the same thing I wrote above... none of that worked.

At first it was linked to the properties menu as shown in your photo, but now it is no where to be found. As you can see in my photo, it is checked but it is not at anywhere on the screen. I've tried to check and uncheck it several times, restart Revit, restart my computer and deleted the UIState.dat as the directions stated. It's still not showing up. Could this may be a Revit Lt 2020 issue??

What if you turn off Properties? What are your screen resolution and display scaling?

Try the following it should reset both Properties Palette and Project Browser position back the the default OOTB location

1. Close Revit
2. Open Windows Registry editor, select and delete the following key:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit {Product Name} {version}

3. Relaunch Revit

Solution:

1. Make sure Revit is not running.
2. Using the Windows Registry editor, select and delete the following key:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit {Product Name} {version}
  • Replace {Product Name} with Architecture, Structure, or MEP or leave blank for Revit OneBox.
  • Replace {version} with your release of Revit (2014, 2015, etc.)

3. Relaunch Revit

Obviously both of us are echos for below link

I just didn't see your post before posting mine. I'm posting from mobile so it doesn't give me realtime synching. Sorry for that.

Anyway let's hope that it solves the problem.

This is a UI issue which dates way before that link and when one handles deployment and maintenance one should know that wiping the Registery Key resets the interface to its defaults...hope and luck are not a factor in resolving this issue. You did copy that link indeed with impeccable precision I have to admit ... adding a link would have been much easier when replying via mobile apps 🙂

Nothing has worked so far. I'm still having the problem. How do I go about removing Revit Lt and reinstalling it. Maybe I need to do that?

I tried on my end the following and it worked

- close revit

- delete the UIState.dat file

- Wiped the Registry Key mentioned in my previous post

(tried that on Revit 2019 - Not LT though)

You might  need to Clean Uninstall/Reinstall … check on the Installation and Licensing Forum on how to deep clean all installed components including registry
