Revit infill roof from demo is missing / incorrect material

This roof has existing openings to fill in and also new holes to be cut.  But the behavior across phases is not correct.  Holes remain that should be filled in and infill roof cannot be joined to the main roof and are the wrong material.  Can anyone solve this problem?  I tried everything I could find online but nothing works.

How to I get to the void in the family?  I can only selecting something called "opening Cut" it has no pull grips or properties like those shown in your screen cap.

Edit: I turned on the "cuts with voids when loaded" this fixed the problem in the NEW PHASE ONLY.

Next Issue: why are there no infill roofs for the two demolished shafts?  Also why are shafts in the new phase cutting openings in existing phase?  why do infill roofs of wrong material exist in existing phase.  they have not yet been cut.
