Revit Files disappearing from Dropbox

I recently noticed a Revit file (not central / autodesk cloud) disappeared from my dropbox. After further investigation ALL but my actively used Revit files are gone, all other file types still intact.

I reached out to dropbox who said there was nothing I could do because I only had the plus account and after 30 days, they are gone forever. They are mysteriously being deleted and this is happening on my current project revit files.

Has anyone had similar issues with revit & dropbox, or has anyone else figured how to recover these from Revit, autodesk, dropbox, your computer, anywhere?

Any and all help is appreciated.

When you save a Revit file it creates a backup (the ones ending on 0001.rvt, 0023.rvt and so on). It does not create other backups. So if yo do not have other backups anywhere else then you have a problem.
I am not using dropbox. Most of those services have a trashcan functionality. Maybe they are still in there?

Besides I do not see any reason why (only) revit files would dissappear. Most of those service have logs of what happens, maybe you can check there to see what has been going on

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

There was a thread very recently where Revit Models were simply not being saved to a similar type of online file save/share location but backups were so you may have some luck in recovering this information.

I took specific interest as i use OneDrive and all my links keep unattaininnd and asking out "its just one of them things"

They did reference this link which gives some alternative options.

Recent changes saved or synced to the cloud are missing in Revit (autodesk.com)
