Revit File Server Network Optimisation

We have a HA cluster of Synology RS1619xs+ with a RAID 10 Array an a 512GB SSD Cache in RAID 1, 10Gbe backbone throughout and all client PC's connecting at 1 Gbps.  The File Server is set to SMB2 only with Opportunistic Locking disabled.  This has been operating fine for around a year however, I would like to improve performance for Revit users and would like your feedback on the below, as I cannot find any supporting documentation for these queries anywhere.

  • Does Revit work okay with SMB3?
  • Does Revit work okay with Jumbo Frames?
  • Does Revit work okay with bonded Network Adapters (Client side)?

Any feedback of real world experiences would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Thanks Wendy.  Unfortunately none of those threads answer the specifics that I am looking for.  I see that folk where having issues with SMB 3 in 2014, do you know if this is still an issue with Revit 2018 and above?

Hi, I am keen to know what your experience is of using Revit with the Synology RS1619xs+ with an SSD cache.
We have that NAS and I am wondering if putting in an SSD cache will improve performance (load/sync times). I'm assuming it would of course BUT would be interested to know if you've run into any issues. We use File-Based Worksharing and are running a mix of Revit 2019 - 2022.
Any input from you would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!
