Export of Curved Edges/Walls to ifc Results in Jagged/Wrong Geometry

Hi,

While experimenting with an upcoming project we've discovered that the export to ifc results in significant misrepresentation of geometry, rendering our ifc models unusable.

I've looked through ifc export options, and didn't see any setting that may have an effect on this. Any ideas?

As an additional kick in the stomach is that my revit material assignments are not correctly applied to the ifc export, but the more important issue is the geometry right now.

Welcom to Revit :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Model everything as generic models and then you get correct IFC

Thanks, but it is not an acceptable modeling practice for our needs.

I hade walls with "edit profiles" and Revit couldent export it to IFC. Solution was to compose walls as Component-->model-inplace-Wall but its not acceptableworkflow.

Have you tried Revit to ArchiCAD IFC export?

I just did. If anything, it is worse, now, not even the curb-to-slab straight sections do not match.

Thanks for the suggestion though. seems to me, what with licensing changes and all the ifc problems, it might be time to move on to Tekla.
