Revit Family Problem

Currently modelling a 3D bridge in Revit. I have a 2D bridge deck drawn in AutoCAD that I've able to load into the family editor, shown in picture 1 attachment. However, when I try to Load into Project, I receive 2 error messages, shown in picture 2.

 "Can't make type"

"Profile type contains no loops"

I'm also confused about how I can give this 2D section 3D geometry. Can I extrude outwards once the family is loaded into the model? Just to clarify, the family I have is 2D, perhaps I have to give it geometry in the Family editor?

Any feedback appreciated.

You need to create the profile for that.  The CAD won't work, but you can use the CAD to trace the profile.

Once you have the profile loaded you can use it to create a sweep of the bridge deck.

Do you perhaps have an image of the bridge that you're trying to create?  If so, we could probably provide more help.

he doesn't need to trace it, he can explode the inserted cad, assign the linework to a new category and it's ready to use.

That sounds messy, I would just draw or import just the profile into profile family and use that.

@martijn_pater yes, that is exactly what I meant, but instead of tracing you use the imported cad and explode it it.
