Revit Family Lines not showing correctly

I have a Detail family with all lines styles set to black in the family editor, when i load the family into a model all of the lines change colour! (see attached images)

I don't see the Object styles in your project view, just for the family.

Ah ok my bad, i had assumed revit would take the object styles from the family and display them as drawn within the family. so i need to load my family into the model then edit the object styles there?
