Hi,
I'm working on some projects in Revit 2020.
I'm having problems with changes I make in my model.
Somehow Revit does not seem to "remember" I made them.
For example: I make some annotations and put some text on my elevation view.
I switch to another view, make some changes in that view, save my file. When I switch back to my elevation, all the annotations and texts have dissapeared. I keep having to do all the work twice!
Also:
I frequently get an errorcode when I try to save: "Encountered a sharing violation while accessing …\Revit2e15805c-190c-... (it's a long code) followed by the message"file not saved". After clicking the save button the file gets saved.
Anybody have the same problems?

Have you try to install latest updates from autodesk sometimes it helps or any view template assign to that view. Thanks
Yes I did. And I even tried a clean uninstall and re-install of Revit.
My Autodesk Desktopp App doesn't work either.
There is an article that discusses the sharing violation issue - it may be linked to your problem.

you need to uninstall first and reinstall again and see if helps. thanks
try to uncheck your use hardware acceleration and see if helps or you can share the file so we can check. thanks

What are you doing when you switch to another view? Is it possible that you are making changes to the location and/or extents of the elevation?
no changes to the extent of the elevation.
But I uninstalled Revit once more and re-installed. The problem seems to be fixed.
Now it's only the sharing violation that I have to fix.

We recently dealt with the sharing violation error at my firm. It turned out to be caused by the anti-virus protection software, Trend Micro in our case. I tracked it down to the fact that the AV software was grabbing on to the temp data files generated when synching to central and trying to scan them. Even though it is only for a brief period, this was enough to get Revit to stop processing and throw the error.
For Windows, a 'sharing violation' simply means that the file is in use by another process, so your process (sync) can't complete it's task. If you try to sync, and get a sharing violation error, the sync does not complete correctly. We did lots of testing, and added exceptions to tell the AV software not to scan the files. However, this is not a good IT practice, so we eventually switched to a different AV software and it has been working perfectly since.
Thank you for the info. I have Trend Micro on my PC too.
I've contacted my IT dep. to fix it.
Thank you very much!
