Revit Dimension has auto leader

HI All,

We recently upgraded to the new 2022 revit, I'm not sure if its a new update to 2022 or a new feature in 2022, but when dimensioning now, if revit considers any dimension line to small to contain the text it now automatically adds a leader after selecting the location. See photo below. Red arrow points to dimension in the making, (text appears in the dimension) and the other dimension is after placement.

Is there a way to turn this off? That it doesn't do it automatically?

Untick "Leader".

....are you saying that Revit chose that text/leader position on placement?  If so, I have no explanation for that. That's not typical.

yea Leader only removes the existing leader and leaves the text off floating in space.

to your second point.... yes... revit put a leader on the dimension and put it off to the side, on its own. When i selected the two points the text was in between the 2 points as usual. Then once i clicked for the desired placement of the dimension the text jumped out to the side with a leader. It only seems to do this when it believes the text is to large to fit between the dimension lines.

8' dim apears correct after placement, 2.5' dim auto located text off to the side with a leader. Other dim with no leader is leader option unchecked.

I am also confused why it does this, its never happened before so i thought maybe it was a new feature in the 2022 revit.
