We have an office in Shanghai and NYC where Revit users work on the same Revit files over C4R. The NYC team has no problems with C4R when it comes to syncing files but the China team has a much longer syncing time.
Just wondering if anyone else has a similar setup and similar experience with their teams in China experiencing slow syncing. In the Shanghai office, we have regular internet and a VPN business line for US IP's and basically the way it works is that the regular internet is used until the need to reach site outside China is needed which the VPN would kick in. I'm not sure if C4R uses the VPN or the regular internet but at the speeds it's going, it feels like it is running on the VPN because of the slower bandwidth. It has been reported that when one person is on Revit, syncing is much faster versus multiple people on multiple projects.
I also noticed that C4R uses Amazon's Cloudfront which has servers in Asia so maybe perhaps it's not a distance issue.
We have looked into Panzura but it's too expensive to justify the cost at this point. If anyone has any advice on how to increase the speed of syncing for C4R, your advice would be much appreciated.
