1. What is Audit in revit software?

2. How its useful for us?

3. If i open file without clicking on audit option, then what will happen?

Use the Audit function periodically to maintain the health of a Revit model, when preparing to upgrade the software, or as needed to locate and correct issues. The Audit function scans, detects, and fixes corrupt elements in the model. It does not provide feedback on which elements are fixed.

When i upgrade model in higher version by clicking audit option, but the model is unable to open at this condition what can i do how to i know whats wrong with my model. Please suggest any solution regarding that.

@Anonymous hello, what Revit version of your file do you have right now and what version do you want to upgrade? please do remember that Revit program is not compatible backwards which means you can open Revit file from lower version to higher version but not higher version to lower version. thanks

I read your reply for knowledge of revit audit. It is very useful for us to solve the problem. 

But we have more question about audit.

The function of revit audit is not provide the information. So, we can't realize what is fixed or what is problem.

Actually we want to know what is done under implementing the function of revit audit .

Specifically, what kind of things are done?

I was surprised because it's so fast.

But that link is already known to us.

We have huge revit project which is going on C4R.
The other day, we had fatal error on it. When a person was modifying a family, revit had crashed suddenly.

After that , all members couldn't have modified all families on C4R.

Although we tried to audit, we couldn't have any information or caution from revit after audit.

As we tried to modify a family again, we received the notification that this family was broken.

We all think what is audit. If revit does not notify the information when we audit, we can’t aware of where problem is occured , or problem is occured or not.

I want to know what is going on concretely while we audit.　

Please tell me if you know.

Fortunately, we could get back to previous syncronizing sutiuaiton  by useing BIM360 funciton.

Although it is great function, but even so we lost half a day of all members which consist of about 10 people.

At the moment we are also working with the C4R/BIM 360, what I did to eliminate those errors, we relinquish all mine all user's then download the file from BIM 360, audit and try to fix all warnings error's and delete those families that we don't need from Project browser and upload again the file, so far we don't experience any issue. Thanks
