Revit Area Schedule does not populate

I have not been able to get an area schedule to populate. I created the area plan, then I created New Schedule/Quantities and select Category: Areas (Gross Building) then confirm Schedule Building Components is checked , then select the scheduled fields I want to see and select ok--The schedule does not display any of the areas on the area plan. I confirmed the areas are tagged and fully enclosed. I confirmed that no filters are set.  The problem seems to be happening only on this project file--my area plans and schedules in other projects are scheduling fine.  Could the file have become damaged or is there some visibility setting I am not seeing?

Check phasing of area plan and area schedule. They should match.

Maybe you selected the wrong Areas to Schedule?  That would be my first guess.

When you select Area you must select in type bar (Gross Building) then ask you external walls and you select yes
in this case, area has scheduleCapture.JPG

Thanks, I don't think areas /area schedules can be phased. (I checked all phases of the area plan views)

Thanks, I don't think you select areas to schedule, but I did verify that no filters are set in the schedule

Thanks I tried this also both rentable and gross area, even tried to use custom area types. Then I saw a post on another blog about cache/corrupt file problems so I deleted all temp cache files and restarted and it finally started working as expected. (The project file is a large multiphased project with several linked files) Not sure exactly what was causing the problem but it seems to be fixed and back to working as expected. Thank you everyone for the help.
